Project: Clear Fuel Project
Scope:
• 44 off API OH5 pumps
• 10 off VS4 pumps
• 4 off VS1 pumps
• 1 off OH1 pumps
The Clean Fuel project in Thailand, which was received in 2019, aims to increase the crude oil refining capacity from 38,200 ton/day (approximately 280,000 barrel/day) to 62,270 ton/day (450,000 barrel/day). The project also includes the transformation of the existing oil refinery in Sriracha, Chonburi, into an environmentally-friendly facility that will produce higher quality transportation fuels. Additionally, the project involves upgrading fuel oil to higher-value products such as diesel and jet fuel.
For the non-API (American Petroleum Institute) portion of the project, pumps of the VS1, VS6, and OH1 types were selected. For the API (American Petroleum Institute) portion of the project, the OH5 pump was sold. Rodelta is registered in the TAMAP (Technically Accepted Manufacturers and Products Shell) list as an approved vendor for the OH5 pump, which is the first preference for heavy-duty pumps among leading energy companies such as Shell, Petronas, Thai Oil, and PT Pertamina. Despite the preference of these companies for this pump type, manufacturers often struggle to offer suitable selections for low-flow applications. Rodelta has developed a solution for this issue through the use of diffuser technology in their API pump design. This technology allows for custom control of API requirements such as HRTSO (Head Rise To Shut Off), NPSH (Net Positive Suction Head), and BEP (best efficiency point). The incorporation of this technology in the OH5 pump type has established Rodelta as one of the leading suppliers globally.
As of 2021, all 44 pumps have been successfully delivered, including all project requirements such as witnessed testing (4-hour run test per pump), inspections (ferrite, PMI, NDE), and detailed project documentation.
