Rodelta Delivers Specialized Pump Solutions for the NFXP Sulfur Project in Qatar

Rodelta is proud to announce that we have recently supplied a series of high-quality pumps for the prestigious NFXP Sulfur Project in Qatar, executed by the joint venture Técnicas Reunidas (70%) and Wison Engineering Ltd. (30%). For this project, we delivered a total of nine ETLS (OH3) API 610 pumps and nine HZC (OH3) API 610 pumps, all fully compliant with the 12th edition of the API 610 standard without a single exception.

Pump Technology for Extreme Conditions and Sustainable Impact

The NFXP Sulfur Project is a key component of Qatar’s broader strategy to expand and modernize its liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure. As one of the most significant sulfur processing initiatives in the region, the project requires equipment that delivers exceptional reliability, efficiency, and long-term durability. Rodelta pumps play a crucial role in ensuring that the new sulfur facilities can operate safely and consistently, even under the most demanding operational conditions.

The new sulfur processing units in Ras Laffan Industrial City are designed to handle an average of 5,000 tons of molten sulfur per day. This scale of operation places high demands on all rotating equipment, making pump quality and precision in design essential. Rodelta’s ETLS (OH3) and HZC (OH3) API 610 pumps were selected for their proven performance in high-temperature and corrosive environments, as well as their compliance with the strict mechanical integrity requirements outlined in the 12th edition of the API 610 standard. Delivering pumps without any deviation from this standard demonstrates Rodelta’s commitment to manufacturing excellence and international best practices.

To ensure optimal pump performance in Qatar’s extreme climate, all units are equipped with sun protection. The conditions in Ras Laffan require products specifically engineered to operate reliably and efficiently in this environment. In summer, temperatures in the shade frequently exceed 50°C.

In addition to technical performance, Rodelta’s contribution supports the broader environmental and operational objectives of the project. The NFXP Sulfur Project promotes the sustainable use of resources by converting sulfur—traditionally considered a byproduct waste—into valuable materials for fertilizer production and chemical intermediates. By supplying pumps that safely and efficiently transport sulfur, Rodelta actively supports these circular economy initiatives.

This project further underscores Rodelta’s ability to deliver high-quality, customized pump solutions for major international energy projects. Our team remains committed to supporting global partners with innovative, reliable, and future-proof pump technology.
