CFD studies for system optimization or new hydraulic applications. Validation of existing and new solutions (also energy scans and flow analyses)
Replacement of the hydraulic parts in existing pumps, resulting in higher efficiencies and better suitability for the application.
Providing complete hydraulic and mechanical solutions with all criteria being satisfied to provide the most ideal solution for the customer's specific needs.

The capabilities of Rodelta’s hydraulic team go beyond designing the hydraulic contours of a pump. Thus, “in addition to designing cavitation free diffusers, volutes and impellers with different specific speeds“, they also mastered carrying out suction studies to develop the optimal suction design to a pumping station. Air suction or uneven flows at the impeller intake are often causes of pump problems. These can be identified and optimised in advance. This optimisation is far more cost-effective when the building is under construction than when it is already in place.
The hydraulic team is also capable of performing energy scans to analyse your installation. This provides insight into how your pumps work in the system. Perhaps by changing the process, your pumps will work better at their design point. This often leads to significant energy- and maintenance cost savings. (CO2 reduction)

Another subject in which our hydraulic team has a lot of experience is in upgrading existing installations. More and more people want to give existing solutions a new life in a circular way. Rodelta is able to fit an existing pump with new hydraulics that can deliver more flow, for example. You can also contact Rodelta for this type of assignment. This is partly due to their many years of experience and knowledge of hydraulic fluid flow in combination with advanced CFD packages. Being able to address the right parameters within these packages is their expertise. Just filling out a CFD calculation is not enough.
Rodelta is also at the forefront of hydraulic solutions for fish-friendly pumps. Our engineers were closely involved in drawing up the standard for determining the “fish safety method for determination of the fish safety of pumps, Archimedean screws and confined water turbines used in pumping stations and hydroelectric plants” (NEN 8775), of which a European standard is now even being created. According to these guidelines, Rodelta has designed impellers and pumps that offer a very high survival rate to fish encountering these obstacles in their habitat.
