Installation extended sole plate ETL (OH5) API 610 pump.

Installation extended sole plate ETL (OH5) API 610 pump.

This document explains step by step the installation of an extended sole plate for an ETL (OH5). pump. Following this procedure ensure proper and easy installationFor information on the position of the anchor bolts, please refer to the GA of the project. The type of anchor used as well as the depth of the pockets is the customer’s responsibility. This is because selection is highly dependent on the site situation. However, Rodelta can take care of this on request.

Installation extended sole plate

Step 1

The sole plate shall be hoisted using the four eyebolts of the sole plate. Install the anchor bolts in the designated pockets. Ensure sufficient free threat is available after nuts are screwed on the anchor bolts.

Step 2

Slowly bring down the sole plate and make sure the anchor bolts are in the centre of the anchor bolt pockets. The anchor should be able to move freely (without tension) inside the pockets. Set the sole plate to match the height as indicated on the GA drawing by means of the leveling bolts.

Step 3

Tighten the bolts that normally secure the foundation plate to the sole plate. Now without the foundation plate in the sole plate. Ensure that the bolts are greased before installation (it must be possible to remove the bolts again after pouring).

Reason for fixing the fastening bolts into the sole plate is to prevent these holes from filling with shrinkage-free concrete during the pouring. This will also ensure enough space is available under the bolt when the foundation plate will be placed after pouring.

Step 4
Level the sole plate by turning the leveling bolts so that the foundation plate is horizontal in all directions.

Step 5
Place formwork for pouring. A chamfer in the formwork will prevent concrete from crumbling.

Step 6

The extended sole plate can be fixed by means of shrinkage-free concrete. Pouring should be done smoothly in order to completely embed the sole plate in concrete. Note that the concrete level needs to remain below the topside of the sole plate. An overflow will prevent proper assembly of the pump components.

Step 7

After the concrete has curred, the formwork can be removed

Step 8
The bolts that normally secure the foundation plate to the sole plate, but which have now been used to prevent the threaded holes from being filled with concrete, can now be removed.

Step 9

The ETL (OH5) pump unit can be assembled on the extended sole plate by tighten the foundation plate with the four fastening bolts

Step 10

The seal piping can be connected to the seal system and the pipe connections to the pump can be finished. Optionally the lifting lugs can be removed and replaced with sealing bolts. (Not included in Rodelta delivery)
