Changing weather patterns are overwhelming the capacity of existing water infrastructure and put people and property at risk.
In the Netherlands, the risk became painfully clear after the flooding disaster in 1953. This event was the reason for the setup of a program to protect the land against flooding in the future. Over the years, methods have been developed to protect the country against the dangers of water. The pumping stations in particular take an important role in controlling water nuisance and reducing risks. They ensure that in an early stage action can be taken on possible water problems. As a result, the staff at Rodelta has gained extensive knowledge in creating pump solutions for pumping stations in storm and flooding water management. EHT axial flow pumps are often constructed with a horizontal shaft and with suction and discharge pipes or concrete inlet and outlet canals. The advantages of this type of construction are that the pump can be placed on a simple foundation and provides easy accessibility for inspection. After removal of the top half of the pump casing, the impeller can be easily mounted and dismounted. In this respect the water does not present any difficulties, since as a rule, the location of the impeller is above the highest water level or else a valve can be provided on the discharge side. For years, concrete volute pumps (CVP) have been a proven reliable configuration in the Netherlands. The first concrete volute pump was built in 1935 and is still in good condition. The big advantage of concrete volute pumps is that there are almost no maintenance costs on the volute part. In addition, the concrete construction ensures a very solid foundation of the pumps and contributes to low vibration and noise levels. More info CVP
The ACVP is been developed as a small concrete volute solution and is equipped with an axial hydraulic in combination with a spiral-shaped volute. This makes this pump unique in its kind. The ACVP pump is very suitable for lowheads and capacities that are below the CVP. The prefab pump block can be installed in one piece. Even the suction box construction can be supplied in prefab. The SCVP is been developed as a small concrete volute solution and is equipped with a Single-Vane mix flow hydraulic in combination with a prefabricated volute. This makes this pump highly suitable for situations where cloging must be kept to a minimum and fish-friendly is important. The SCVP pump is very suitable for lowheads and capacities that are below the CVP. The prefab pump block can be installed in one day at site. Even the suction box construction can be supplied in prefab (option). These pumps can also be delivered in a fish-friendly version. More info SCVP
The VV pumps are vertical dry mounted pumps, single stage with cast or welded volute. The volute can be equipped with a double tongue design to balance the radial load on the shaft. The high efficiency impellers are cast using high quality casting methods, so that the efficiencies are guaranteed (upto 92%) . The impeller can be half open or closed, depending on the head and application. The pumps can be supplied in different materials, depending on the liquid to be pumped. One of the many advantages of this pump type is its simple set-up. The pump can easily placed on walls and connected to the suction box as the pump building is ready. This construction brings freedom in the design that even the volute can be replaced when upgrading the pumping station, since it is not part of the building. More info VV
